Accept Criticism Now.

Posted by Quinnfinity3 - 22 hours ago

Accept criticism now or become an enemy to art. If you can not accept criticism, you do not have the mental fortitude required for visibility in this profession. Weakness is unacceptable, and the battle for quality is eternal. Art is supose to be hard and unforgiving. Some say this keeps new artists away. Good. The new artists must learn to fight not with ignorance and insecurity, but with endurance and wisdom. I do not care if you are a member of an echochaimber, suffer mental conditions, or are unaware of these standards. You will be made aware as long as you made the choice to connect to the internet. The only accommodations to be made are ones that make is possible for you to have frustrating but useful knowlage made available to you. This knowledge applies to me as well. I would be honored for you to show no mercy to my works. I can only really do one thing about my art. Improve.

Criticism is good, but to improve you have to be positive.

There is no but. Positivity is in abundance even in the face of great burden. One must simply be able to weild said positivity to their advantage.

I do agree.

There's a point where rejecting criticism consistently will erode trust in those trying to help you. Granted, some critique can be harmful, but if its constructive then why be defensive?

Constructive or not, the acceptance of common virtue is futile. No one is ever satisfied, so why not be at peace with infinite battle? Constant competition only allows the best to survive.

@Quinnfinity3 I wouldn't be so certain about that.

That's how I used to think until I realized I'm only competing with myself when attempting to compete with others to be better. At that point the only battle you have is the inner conflict you have and it becomes a vicious cycle.

At that point you just learn what it means to truly not care and not being offended by criticism, but can take it in and absorb the criticism that's actually useful. And if it ain't constructive, you can throw people off with a kind remark or just ignore them. That's a different kind of resilience.

I praise you for your obtained peace. That works for you. The cycle of competing with myself is not something I am willing to halt. Anything for the might of criticism. It must exist, it guides me.

@DioShiba Might I also add that I have no interest in my well being when it comes to this subject. I allow criticism to rampage as it must.
